On Friday the 3rd we had our Family reunion/meeting. The boys came in from the camp site early to shower and get ready. Then we headed over to Ramsey park. The actual reunion has been at this park for as long as I can remember.
I remember twirling round and around on this merry go round when I was little. Or at least that's what we called it. We were one of the first to arrive ( I tried to tell Richard that 9:00 really means 9:30-10:00 in Slade time) and Jace got on it as soon as we got out of the car. He didn't get off (I'm not exaggerating) for 1 1/2 hours.I don't know how he didn't get sick, but he did eventually end up falling off. Cousin Jenny so kindly carried him over to us. He cried for a few minutes. Then dusted him self off, and was on it again. Coming back for lunch, only because we made him.
Jaren went back and forth between the tables and the play ground. He didn't feel very well and got sick later that after noon. After lunch they had the family raffle. This is my favorite part of the family reunion. Yes, even now that I am all grown up. Thee anticipation and excitement waiting for your name or number to be called is so fun! There is always lots of cute stuff. Both home made and store bought. Then there's always the eatable, and the patriotic. There is usually always something either ASU or UOFA.
I won a Betty Crocker cook book that my grandma had brought. I have already been going through it, and I can't wait to try some of the recipes. There is a chocolate cake in there, mmmm....I can't wait to try and make it! Maybe for my birthday! Tate was a real handful. He walked around,
and Daddy pushed him on the swings. Finally he fell asleep in his stroller. When he woke up we discovered that he loves watermelon. I mean...who doesn't? Then of coarse there's always the Slade family song! Jealous? You should be. Don't hate because your family doesn't have one. We always do it twice. Once for us all to sing, and then once in sign. For Uncle Elwin and Aunt Alice.
I love these two!!! Seeing there smile's always warms my heart. I think it's just child hood nostalgia.
All in all we had a really great time! Here are a few more random pictures from the day.
