Soooo...We woke up pretty early and had breakfast at the Hitching post.

See that free museum next door? Don't go in there! It is a sca-ham (in my singing voice). They try to make you buy a time share. They do the same thing with the free monkeys. Just a caution, that's all. Nothing exciting to report for breakfast. I had hash brown, eggs, and hot chocolate. Richard had biscuits and gravy with some OJ. After breakfast we took the first trolley ride of the morning.

It was fun, I'm glad we did it. They have jeep and hummer rides that cost 3x as much. I'm sure their way cooler. But I was more than happy with our trolley ride. The guide takes you through town, and on some of the back roads as well. Giving you a run of the history, and letting you get out for pictures.

This is the only picture I have of Richard and I together. On our way back he told us about Jerome. My eye's instantly lit up, and I told Richard I was Sedona'd out. He agreed and we were on our happy little way to Jerome.

So here is what I learned about Jerome. In the 1920's it was the most populated city in Arizona. In 1953 the mines were closed and it became a ghost town. In the 1970's it was renovated. Today it is a state park, and national historic landmark. All I have to say is "IT-IS-AWESOME!!!" A photographers dream, really. My amateur pictures (completely unedited, until I can re-download photo shop) don't even come close to giving this place justice. My husband was so patient as I took endless amounts of pictures. (I am so excited to use them in an upcoming assignment.) But I think secretly he was enjoying the coolness just as much as me.

So without further ado...

Here is a picture of the "sliding jail". It moved over 225 feet when an blast in the underground minds went off. "Rattling the hills."It was ignited by a fire that ended up detonating some dynamite.
Does anybody know a real estate agent because I want to buy this house. A pink house, how cute!! With an old Maytag washer out front, seriously???

This was my absolute favorite building, and I took so many pictures of it. This isn't the best by far. It is the Bartlett Hotel. It once had 3 stories, and 7 different stores inside.

I got these cool turquoise earrings on sale!

This is a self portrait I took for class if you want to see the rest you can visit
Calhoun ink. Don't be looking all close now!
For lunch we ate at the Haunted Hamburger.

We beat the crowd, but when we left the line was super long out the door. It was a cute little place. The legend goes something along these lines... It is haunted by a women's spirit. Apparently she, or some other spirit likes to steal hammers. Because on numerous occasions they have ended up missing. Mysteriously showing up somewhere else. Very interesting?!?! Me and Richard split a cheese steak. It was yum! You better believe anyplace that lets you drink out of a mason jar is all right by me.

After lunch we headed our little happy selves home.
THE END

Ok, so you copied me again...you just didn't know it. We have a trip to Jerome and Sedona planned in a couple of weeks. We have been to Jerome several times and yet haven't spent the night. We are staying at the Grand Jerome haunted hotel and going on the ghost hunt, yes, we are weird, but are so looking forward to having a good time. The Haunted Hamburger is still to date the BEST place to get a hamburger...and believe me, I am a pro on hamburgers. By the way, you can buy several deserted homes like the pink one, with refrigerators, washers and sometimes cars about every 30 miles in Nebraska.
Anyhow, we are then going to go stay in Sedona...thanks for the heads up on the time share scams...that would drive me CRAZY.
