Family Home Evening
Let me start by saying we are not always the greatest at having Family Home Evening regularly. We do however try our best when life isn't too crazy. Anyways yesterday Jaren's friend magazine came in the mail and he picked out a story for me to read to him like he always does. It happened to be the story of Joseph Smith's leg operation. I read it and he really enjoyed it. So I told him I thought it would be a good idea if he shared the story for FHE. He was so excited and we had our first Family Home Evening taught by Jaren. It was soooo fun. Mommy had to help him a little, but it was definitely one of my most memorable FHE ever. Jace said the prayer. Then Jaren shared the story. After the story we sang songs lead by daddy, then we had a snack (rice krispy treats made by Mommy. Then we colored the cut out of the story from the magazine. Everyone had a job for the first time. While we colored and had our snack it gave us a chance to talk about the passing of Gordon B. Hinckley. Jaren was sad at first, but now he is really excited to learn who the next prophet of the church will be.

How fun!! I can't wait for my kids to be a little bit older for family home evening! I think the best thing you can do for FHE is to get your kids excited about it. Now you have gotten me excited about it!!! Thanks!
It sounds like you had a great FHE. I love when the kids teach family home evening. They appreciate them more and are more memorable to them.
